On Flonase For Allergies, Advair For Asthma As Needed. Prescribed Cortisone Shot For Achilles Tendonitis. Any Side Effects?

I had TB 40 years ago, and was treated for 2 years. After treatment was complete my doctor warned me about taking any steroid medications in the future. This is something I always think about when prescribed certain medication...I do take Flonase for nasal allergies, and advair for asthma, but only as needed and not on a regular basis. My podiatrist wants to give me a cortisone shot for treatment of achilles tendonitis, so once again I am wondering at the advisibility of this. Whenever I've questioned various doctors about this issue, they are pretty clueless about the ramifications involved, so I thought maybe I could get a definitive answer from a pulmonologist.

Hi, You had T.B.40 years ago, treated for 2 years. doctor told to avoid steroids. as it is 40 years passed you need not think of the caution. more over the injection will be intrathecal, so no worry about it, minute quantities will be absorbed.
If you still want confirmation you can consult our chest physician from our pannel of doctors. Thank you.
