No Periods From October 2011, Discharge In March 2013. Ultrasound Done. What Does Findings Suggest?
my e mail address is YYYY@YYYY My period is stopped since October 2011 on march 2013 there was discharge mixed with spots of blood its repeat monthly in the same time of the period . I consult doctor , he do check by ultra sound and the result as follows: -The uterus is normal size for menopause -Endometrial thickness is 8 mm -Both Ovaries are small and atrophied. -POD is free -NO adnexal mass seen
hello, thank you for using health care magic, well from your history it seems you having postmenopausal bleeding..there are many cause for it like atropic endometritis, endometrial carcinome, infection , cervical carconome etc.. most common cause is endometrial carcinoma.. your report is suggesting thick endometrium ( inner part of uterus) . normal thickness of post menopausal endometrium is 3 to 5 mm.. consult gynecologist and take other test for endometrial carcinoma like endometrial biopsy, hysteroscopy .. i am not scaring you or something, just telling you to be alert hope this helped you..
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Since menopause establish , so ovaries are atrophied . This is a normal process. Uterus is also normal , endometrium ( uterus mass ) is normal. Discharge may as you mentioned in query is normal need not to worry. Mild mucus ( white ) with blood spots are normal. Good luck. Dr. HET
