My normal BP is 90/60. It s been low lately, and I bought monitor and have been testing it. Just tested it and it s 82/44, earlier was 85/49, always below 90/below 60. I m 54, 130 lbs, in very good health. Went to doc last week and all blood work is normal but I m fatigued with headaches a lot. What is going on?

Hello,

You have low blood pressure otherwise your health condition is good. You feel fatigued and also suffer from headaches. You can make lifestyle changes to feel better, make sure your blood sugar level is normal to avoid hypotension. Take small portion of food multiple times a day, taking a large meal may cause a sudden fall of blood pressure.

Take adequate water and fluids as dehydration may trigger headache. Stay away from strong smell, pollution, oily spicy food, junk food to avoid headache. Anemia also causes low blood pressure, take food in time, do not skip meals. You should take food rich in iron and folic acid. Maintain healthy weight. Do regular walking. Avoid emotional stress as emotional stress can also be a trigger of neurally mediated hypotension.

other medical conditions that can cause the symptoms that you are experiencing are thyroid dysfunction and heart conditions. Get clinically examined by a cardiologist, get stress test, lipid profile, echo, EKG, blood sugar (R and F/PP), X-ray, etc., done to detect any developing CAD, coronary artery disease. Heart issues may also cause fatigue. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected. Stay away from addictions, smoking, alcohol, drugs, etc.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
