Could Drug Interaction Between Insulin, Losartan And Crestor Lead To Low BP And Bradycardia?

My husband started taking berberine. He has diabetes, high cholesterol. He takes insulin, oral diab med, losartan and crestor. He is having low BP, 80-low 100 systolic, and bradycardia: 40-52. Could this be due to drug interaction with the berberine? He is seeing a cardiologist and will be getting an echo and halter monitor next week.

Hello,

Berberine usually decreases the effects of losartan. So, it is less likely the low blood pressure is related to drug interactions with berberine. I recommend avoiding losartan during these days with low blood pressure and consulting with his doctor for a physical exam and a resting ECG if bradycardia persists. You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
