My AFIB Has Been Continuous For Years And Has Resulted

My AFIB has been continuous for years and has resulted at least once in a stroke than impaired my vision and speech. To date the only treatment I have been on is blood thinner - currently Xarelto - previously Warafin. I read about treatments like Catheter Ablation, or MAZE Surgery, and tests like TEE - but these have never come up as a result of cardiologist and many ER visits. What is the best way to get to the bottom of my condition and recommended treatment?
