My 90 years old mother has been scheduled for a heart stress test. She is very active and up to this time has been fairly healthy. She does take meds. for high blood pressure. Last Wednesday evening she had very bad head ache something she never has. She decided just to go on to bed early as the head begin to ease off. However, about 1:30 a.m.she woke up unable to breath very well. She sat up and just took short breaths until she was able to take deeper breathes. After we found out about this, she spent about 21/2 hours being checked and monitored in the ER. She came home with a heart monitor for 24 hrs. On Friday her regular Dr. added another BP med. and said they would schedule a stress test. Also, she is have someone with her 24/7. She has always been able to stay by herself, work in her yard, drive, shop, housekeep, cook meals, and basically be independent. We are very concerned about a stress test. Oh, she has never been in the hospital or had any kind of test. We have been blessed.
