My 85-year-old Father, Who Has Diabetes (10units Of Insulin A

My 85-year-old father, who has diabetes (10units of insulin a day), and an Abdominal Aortic Aneurism has gotten a second bruise in his stomach area about 1 1/2 inch both times, but in different areas of the stomach, an inch or more above his belly button. The bruises, the first one took a few weeks or more to disappear, was purple at points and yellow at edges and yellow as it went away. He has dementia also and so never remembers doing anything to it, but both times he said it was not sore when I pressed on it, even when it was purple--usually bruises on me are tender. Also, they both seemed to have a hard lump, like a bit of mussel or non-edged hardness under them. He also has a stomach hernia from years ago that was determined not to need treatment. I am wondering if this is indeed just a bruise or something more concerning
