Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 37 yr. old daughter is a single mother and she came down with a fever and sore throat about 4 days ago. Things have gotten much worse now. The sore throat is severe and her fever has been as high as 104 degrees. She has mouth sores and white patches in her throat that look pus filled and she cannot eat or barely drink water to get a pain pill down. Her tongue is coated and looks gray. I've had her to the ER twice this week and they cannot find anything bacterial and just say it's a viral syndrome. She is getting worse by the day and we don't know what to do. Is there something we're missing? She cannot stand the pain much longer. We need to get some answers. Her whole body aches and she has had stiffness in her neck on the right side. They did a spinal tap and it came up negative. I don't know if this fact helps any, but she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about a month ago and has been struggling with her health problems for some time now. I would appreciate any help I can get and advice as to what anyone thinks this may be and what we can do. Thank you so much.
