My 20 year old daughter experienced a frightening episode last week. She hadn't bee feeling well all day with a headache and fatigue. Late in the evening she became very tired with what she described as a pounding headache. As she was brushing her teeth to go to bed, she suddenly lost muscle control in her right arm. She described her arm as "flailing." She tried to walk to her bed but her headache became quite severe and then she lost control of her leg muscles and fell to the floor. She said this lasted about 10-15 seconds. When she was able to get into bed, she had blurred vision and what she described as a "roaring" sound in her ears for about 15 minutes. She then went to sleep and felt fine the next morning. She has Essential Tremor disease and will be seeing her neurologist on Friday but don't know what questions to ask. Her Neuro. suggested that it might be a migraine but we want to make sure it was not something more serious such as a TIA or a seizure. Any advice on what questions we should ask or what tests we should request? Thank you.
