Matter of drinking alcohole

I can't seem to get drunk or high. Is this some medical condition I don't know about ? It s the strangest thing -- no matter how much I drink or smoke, nothing happens. I feel exactly the same. I m not saying this is a bad thing -- I m just wondering why this is. Does some medical condition exist where you never get drunk no matter what ? And I have a lot to drink at parties. But nothing ever happens, and I d know if it did. Does this happen to anyone else ? I am secretly a superhero ?

My 82 yo dad is in hospital following several falls. He has a history if heavy drinking (stopped 10 years ago), high blood sugar and irregular heartbeat. His cholesterol is normal. He suffers from depression. A CT of brain was normal except for extensive confluent areas of low attenuation in white matter, consistent with marked chronic ischemic degenerative change. also Mod. To severe diffuse volume loss, marked atherosclerotic calcification of carotid siphons and distal vertebral artery. He has some confusion-- couldnt recall his exact birthday, but he continues to read voraciously . Could he have suffered a mini stroke? Does the CT indicate alcohol induced brain damage? With abstinence from alcohol and controlling blood sugar, can his white matter recover or is the loss permanent? Thank you.

Hi Dr,

I recently had several blood tests and was informed today of the results which i am a bit worried about. The doctor said i have a high Gamma GT presence in my liver and that i must return in 3 months for further blood tests. When researching online about Gamma GT i found that it is highly related to alcohol but i am a 47 year old female who has never drunk alcohol before.

I would very much appreciate if you could shed some light on what this actually is, why i may have it and what course of action i should take or that is recommended for me to take.

Thank you very much for your time,

I look forward to your response,

Kind Regards

Sir, can you tell me why I feel this tightness, discomfort and bulging at the front side of my upper stomach just below ribs in the centre? It is related to alcohol, but the feeling is after the intoxication is gone, while I'm not drunk. It feels very hot when I touch that area and my breath is hot too. Before at rare occasions when too over-drunk I noticed bit of blood in my stool and today I threw up all that I drank and noticed it is mixed with blood, dark red. Could you please advice me.
