Lumpy And Bruised Breast. Due For Periods. Is It Hormonal Change?

I'm 21yr old. My left breast feels lumpy and bruised. My right breast feels fine. I should have my period in a few days, so I'm not sure if it's hormonal or something else. Would anyone know what it could possible be. Should I wait till my period passes to 'see' if it's still there and let a doctor check it out or should I go now?

I'm also a virgin, so I can't be pregnant. There is no history of breast cancer in my family (that I know of anyway).

Hello and welcome to HCM.

Thank you for your query.

As you do not present with any other symptoms that could lead to a clinical suspicion of other conditions, as of now the only possible explanation is a hormonal effect. Which is quite commonly experienced by many woman just before and during their periods.

I would thus suggest you wait till your period is over, and if the symptoms continue even after, then consult your doctor.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.

Best wishes.
