Lump Under Eye Is Tender, Hard, Broken Blood Vessel In Eye
I have a lump under my eye ....About three weeks ago i have facial contusions more so on my left eye and a fracture on my nose. I visted the ER after the accident but I have not followed up with my primary as of yet. My concern is my left eye the lump is tender and very hard and noticeable. DO you think I should worry? I also have a popped blood vessel (big) in my left eye that has also not gone away.
a broken nose with a lump under the eye can be a serious issue. there can be a fracture of the sinus under the eye. this is something that needs to be looked at by a trained person and should not be ignored.
about the popped blood vessel, there is nothing to worry. it must have been a sub conunctival hemorrage i.e. bleeding under the skin. it generally goes away in 2 -3 weeks.
in the meanwhile, do not blow your nose or sneeze forcefully. u may get air under the skin from the fracture area and if it travels to the back off the eye, then problem can come.
do visit your primary physician asap
hope this helps
