Low platelet count. No symptoms. Normal result?
hi! I just had my medical result for my employment but the result of my platelet count is very low 68 while the normal value is 150-450x 10(9)/L Andy segmenters is 6.58 only with the normal values of 50-70, I am very uncertain with the result because I don t have any symptoms of having low platelet and low segmenters. they even give me a remark of fit to work,, please explain to me if it s normal to get abnormal result of those test without having any symptoms of it?

It is possible that the platelets were in clumps which would reduce the numbers counted, this can sometimes be seen with a full blood count.
The value 68 is very low and would have likely been remarked upon if it was thought to be the true platelet count.
If you remain concerned you should consider, if possible, speaking to your doctor.
