Kid Having Sores On Head, Painful To Touch. Applying Anti Fungal Cream. What Is The Cure?

Hi,

My seven year old son have soars on his head that are very itchy and painfull at the same time even when you just touch his head. I've been using an antifungal cream for a few months now but it still doesn't eliminate the soars from the root because they keep growing back. Please recommend a treatment for me to use and maybe home remedies that I can try out. I don't even know what to call this things. They are white and flacky, round spots all over the head but feels like there's a nut inside the spots that are hard and painfull.

Thank you

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for your query.
From your discription it seems to be a fungal infection most likely tinea capitis.
I suggest you to get him examined by pediatrician as he needs oral antifungals and some topical medication for this.

Wash his hairs regularly .
He needs antifungal shampoo as well

Hope this helps.
Take care..
