Kid Fallen Off The Stair Case, Noticed A Bump After A While. Everything Else Is Normal. Anything To Worry?
Hi doc. My child is 4 months old. He was buckled in his pram covered in blankets and it reversed on the stairs about 7 steps and it overturned and landed with his face downwards. He cried for a few minutes n he was playing again. Three days later later he developed a soft lump on the left side of his head. He is acting normal but im worried about the bump and he is not drinking well.
Hello there! I read your query. Trauma can result in head injuries as you mentioned. But the bump as you said appeared 3 days after i dont believe it has some thing to do with intra cranial trouble. Might be just an inflammed response to the blow externally. Had it been some brain involvement it would have been shown in less than 24 hours. Now you said kid is not drinking well. To the age of 4 months not drinking has many innocuous reasons like some fever or some bad chest etc. try to address them. i would any how advise to see a paediatrician and to rule out any intra cranial trouble. I wish you very good luck and take some good care of your son and your self. cheers Dr Khan
