Is Weight Gain And Constant Bloating Due To Changing From Lowogestrol To Cryselle ?

My insurance company asked me to switch pharmacies about 6 months ago, and when I did this...my birth control pill changed from Low Ogestrol to Cryselle. Since then, I have gained 25 pounds and constantly feel bloated. I have not changed my diet/exercise habits. If anything, I ve tried to better them. But I can t get the weight or bloating to go away. What should I do!?

Addiction Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Birth control can be associated with weight gain. It is not that predictable which one will cause it. In general, the lower medications are less risk of side effects. There are usually several available and changing them is a new roll of the dice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
