Is Vertigo Curable?

My mum aged 84 has vertigo. How can she tell if it is just vertigo or the result of a mini stroke. She has had a CT scan and one doctor has told her she may have had a stroke at some stage. Would a neurologist visit be the best referral? Is vertigo curable?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms seem to be related to benign paroxismal vertigo.
I suggest using Meclizine hydrochloride three times a day for relieve.
I also suggest to avoid salt in the diet.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
