Is Unproductive Cough Post Inhalation Of Spray Paint A Cause For Concern?

I was spray painting in a small bathroom last night and I did not wear a mask and believe I inhaled a large amount of paint. I have a rough cough that doesn t seem to be producing much phlegm. I really don t have a chance to see a doctor right now. Will the cough subside? Is there anything I can do to help it along?

Welcome and thanks for consulting the best portal of physicians online. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.

It is due to the allergic reaction of the body due to lung irritation caused by the chemicals in the paint.

It will take some time to go away and the lung tissue injury will heal with time.

Medications:-
Take some OTC medications to have a symptomatic relief.
Ibuprofen
Claritin
Cough suppresant syrup.

Don't go into that restroom where you painted recently. You need to stay away for a week. Keep the restroom airy by opening the doors. It will take away any volatile chemicals in fresh paint.

Take plenty of water, fruita and vegetables. Take a protein diet and take proper rest to ensure fast recovery.

Hope I answered all of your health concerns . If you have further questions in future, feel free to contact me anytime & I will get back to you in no time. Please give a positive feedback.

Have a wonderful time ahead.

Best Regards!
