Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I am scheduled to have the mesh removed and new mesh placed on my ventral hernia. There is a MRSA infection there now and I have noticed a lot of tinging in my left side from the bottom of my bra line to the midsection. Is this a sign of the MRSA infection?
Hi thanks for asking question. Here you have MRSA infection and it can lead to skin infection also. so in your case your skin might be infected if associated rash is present. It is methicillin resistant staph infection .so routine antibiotic is not helpful. For that antibiotic used are linezolid , rifampicin, septran or vancomycine. So it is better for you to treat your MRSA infection with one of the above antibiotic. I hope my suggestion will help you.thanks.
