My mother is 94 and had a mild stroke in February but is mostly over it. She sleeps, most nights, from 9 pm to 7 am, get up from bed about 10:30 am but some mornings cannot keep her eyes open. Once she has a nap from 1 - 3 pm she is much better. Is this normal?

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist, Niraj Modi's Response
Yes she is normal. Some times just because of age factor also patient sleeps a lot. As well since she has already have got stroke once I suggest to check her blood pressure on a regular basis. And preferably in morning. If you find it to be in higher than 140/80 then do visit you doctor. Rest all is fine. Take care
