Is The Pain In The Knee Going To Be Intermittent Or Chronic?

Hello, Thank you for looking at my question. I have been cycling(exercise bike) for about 10 days now. I really like it as other forms of exercise I couldn t continue. But I am getting pain on the right side of my right knee. I have been using ICY patch and tiger balm, since my stomach can’t take pain killers. relief I will take ibuprofen if it is unbearable . I’m getting some relief. My question is that is it interim pain as I am new to biking eventually go away or will I injure my knee if continue doing it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to knee pain due to overuse.

I suggest to rest for some days.

I also recommend using cold compresses for local application.

I also suggest using Voltaren gel for local application.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
