Is The Non Rising Of HCG Levels During Pregnancy Worrisome?

Hi, I just found out I am pregnant and am worried sick as I have been told my hcg levels are not rising as they should. On wednesday my hcg was 2600 and on Friday it was only 3016. I had two days when I had a very small amount of bright red bleeding but no tissue or anything passed. Is it likely I will have a miscarriage?

Hey thanks for your faith in the health care Magic
I have gone through your question and I understood your problem.
It is quite possible to have “slow to rise” hCG levels and go on to have a normal pregnancy. Again, you have to keep in mind that hCG levels are just estimates and each pregnancy is different. The actual numbers are not indicators of the probability of pregnancy complications but rather, the direction the numbers are going. Dropping hCG levels usually indicates a problem. Numbers that go rather high for the estimated gestation period can also indicate a problem such as molar pregnancy.
In other cases, slow to rise hCG levels can indicate a blighted ovum, an impending miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy. So I will suggest you to consult with your obstetrician as soon as possible. Thank you.
