Is Taking Pain Medications Advisable While On Nitroglycerine Pills?

I have undifferentiated connective disease and have flare ups that cause chest pain. I usually can wait until the pain subsides or take Tylenol. However, the only thing that really works is hydrocortisone/apap 5-325 mg. I rarely take it, but it makes a huge difference.I also have coronary artery disease and had a heart attack in 2o14 and have three stents. The two problems make each other worse. I took a nitro pill last night and one this morning about 9 am. My blood pressure is usually under control with my meds, but it seems to be borderline high today. My question -- can I take my pain med even if I took the nitro this morning? It is about 5:15 pm. Thank you.

Hi,

Nitroglycerine does not have any drug interaction with painkiller like Tylenol (acetaminophen) and hence can be taken.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
