Is Taking Percocet Safe Instead Of Morphine?

What is the difference between Morphine 30mg IR and Percocet 10mg?I have just stopped taking Morphine 30mgIR for the last 7 days and have been taking Percocet in its place per Doctor s order and Methadone until the Morphine is completed and then stop the Methadone and begin the Fentanyl patch. I have been on long term Morphine for the last 17 years and have stopped it and have been on the IR for the last 3 years . I am not doing so well with the pain. Do you have any suggestions? I have Thalamic Pain Syndrome related to post surgical brain surgery 17 years ago. My name is Ellen

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if the pain and narcotic is matter of concern then I would strongly suggest to stop the narcotic and it can be well managed with NSAID alone only condition is the pain needs to be tolerated and bear as hard as it could be, else narcotic are not advise at all hope this information helps.
