Is Taking Elisa Test After Ten Days Of Having Sex Credible?

Hi Doctor, What is the credibility of Elisa test after 10 days of having sex? I had a safe sex with a girl whom I dont know. Used condom as well. But she gave me a blow job for few minutes that was without a condom, I dint cum inside her mouth as well. Then I did put my finger inside her vagina. And after 2 days I saw a small cut in the finger that I have put in her vagina rest, I am not sure if I had that cut on my finger that night. When I was having sex with her I did had a condom on my penis. And now I am freaking put and have guilt and am planning to get tested after 10 days

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

In the earliest stages, DNA or RNA PCR tests are best to diagnose virus particles. For presence of antibodies, the main tests for the diagnosis of HIV-1 infection are the HIV enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and the confirmatory Western blot test. Both detect host antibodies to HIV. ELISA is the initial screening test and has sensitivity and specificity >99%. A false-negative ELISA result occurs most commonly when the test is performed in a newly infected patient before an antibody response has developed (the window period). Most patients have a positive ELISA finding 10 to 14 days after infection, although seroconversion may be delayed in some however ELISA is best done at 90 days.
