Is Taking Clindamycin With Bactrim Advisable While Having Flexor Tendon Infection?

I just got out of the hospital with a flexor tendon infection, several different iv antibiotics including clindamycin, out of the hospital with pill form clindamycin, previously was prescribed bactrim with keflex.. Can I take the clindamycin and bactrim together, alternating?

Clindamycin and bactrim (trimethoprim /sulfamethoxazole) have no interactions at all and they should be safe to use together. bactrim interacts adversely with erythromycin and clarithromycin but has no adverse interactions with clindamycin. Hence you can use them together.
