Is Surgery Required For A Cyst On The Left Femur Bone?
I am 31 year old since January I went to hospital for a complain of lower back pain and a swelling on my left hip,the doctor said I hav a cyst on my left femur shown on xray.but I stil didn t done the surgery as they advised,i might not in danger if it is delayed?
As by the history I understand you have a cyst on the femur and you are advised for the surgery. For which you need an opinion. So, the cyst on the femur is to be determined on which location exactly it is. Most the the time they are benign cysts.
So they are harmless. Based on the location what it is revealed in the X-ray and how prone it is to lead to fracture of bone has to be examined by the orthopedist. Based on this he may or may not recommend the surgery.
If it is prone to lead to fracture the orthopedist may advice for surgery and the orthopedist call should be the final decision. Delay is not a worry but in case if you develop any fracture then other complication may arise. Take the decision wisely. I recommend to go with the choice of orthopedist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
