Hi

welcome to HealthCareMagic

It seems there was extravasation of blood in to surrounding tissue which is leading to different colour changes due to absorption of blood .There may be also component of thrombophlebitis .She need to take anti-inflammatory medicine like ibuprofen for pain and swelling. If pain and swelling is more, or limb very blue ,she need an urgent consultation to rule out some serious issue.
Much of this process is self-limited, with complete resolution of symptoms within a few days.Keeping the limb slight higher on a pillow will also help.
Hope I answered your query,
Feel free to ask if any more questions,
thanks
