Is Smoking Prior To An Abortion Advisable?
I am going in for a pregnancy termination procedure under general anesthesia tomorrow morning. I am a heavy smoker and I use anxiety medication once a day....I am still not able to stop now that it is after midnight(told to stop smoking and eating and even drinking water) but this is extremely difficult for me to do.I frequently wake up through the night to smoke a cigg or two and have a water or glass of soda....because I cannot stop, what are my risks through surgery and will it affect how well the termination will be afterwards?

In all situations, smoking is not advisable, no matter what the condition is.
In your particular case, smoking is not advised at all since you are going to have a termination of pregnancy and hence you might need dilation and curettage along with some sort of sedation or even anesthesia and for that your lungs must be at rest for better ventilation.
Smoking will make your lungs tired for the short-term immediately after smoking and in the long-term as well. So, better it is not to smoke.
