Is Severe Pain In Joints And Back Due To High Fever?

My husband had a fever of 104.2 on Tuesday, it went down to between 102 & 103 Wednesday & Thursday and finally broke on Friday. He felt pain in his back on Tuesday before he became ill and then on Friday, his back and his right foot hurt quite a bit. Now he has pain in all of his joints, along with his back and it is extremely painful for him to move. The pain seems worse on the right. Is this a product of the high fever? He also has what looks like heat rash on his feet and legs.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain in joints and back due to high fever which could be due to upper respiratory track tract infection or viral infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start with paracetamol every 4 hourly. Maintain hydration status of yourself. Take curd in diet. Start taking oral rehydration fluids sip by sip to maintain the hydration. Avoid cold carbonated beverages and spicy and oily food. Take analgesic medication along with antiinflammatory medication. Avoid taking large meals to and take small but frequent meals. Visit general physician once and get it examined. You should go for blood tests as well and start treatment after proper examination.
