Is Severe Headache Due To Klonopin?

Hi, my name is Shannon and I am 52 yrs old. I have been on .5mg Klonopin for about 6 months now along with Lexapro and Wellbutrin 300mg. I, for some reason, forgot to take my Klonopin for about 5days. I started back up yesterday and have had a really bad headache since. Could it be cause from the Klonopin?

Hi Shannon,
Klonopin contains a benzodiazepine called clonazepam. It is highly unlikely that Klonopin has caused you headache. When Klonopin is taken for long period, it should not be stopped abruptly. It can cause a constellation of symptoms called withdrawal syndrome. Even when it has to be stopped, the dose is gradually tapered over days. I would advice my patient to take the medications as prescribed.
Hope the above information helps you. Thanks.
