Is Recurrent Diarrhea A Symptom Of Colon Cancer?

Yes, I have had off and on diarrhea for past 2 half weeks, no nausea, no pain. Got scared, ran to ER, they did all kinds of blood test, urine, nothing. I have been highly stressed past four weeks, serious issues in my family. I have history of anxiety. Do I have colon cancer? There has been no bloody diarrhea. ER drs wont tell you anything and they did not do xrays.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per history, I think anxiety may be cause for recurrent diarrhoea as you do not have any other symptoms. You can take tab. loperamide after consultation. Bloody diarrhoea is one of symptom of colon cancer. Keep yourself hydrated.I'd suggest you to do stool examination, CT abdomen. You may require colonoscopy after consultation.
