Is Proluton Shots And Utrogestron Safe During 5 Weeks Pregnancy?
Dear Doctor, Iam 5 weeks pregnant and my ob doctor told me that I have a cyst and that my baby is to low down than the normal position in the uterus. She prescribed me proluton depot shots that i have to take every 5 days (need 4) and utrogestan. Now are these medications necessary for me and why should I have to take them? I got really concerned after looking up utrogestan on the web and Im really afraid. Hope you ll be able to help!
Yes, they are safe during early pregnancy. Both Proluton and Utrogestan contain female hormone progesterone and are prescribed to support and maintain an early pregnancy associated with suspected low progesterone levels. The are also used to to lower the risk of abortions or premature birth. There is nothing to worry as they are considered to be safe during pregnancy hence take them as prescribed by your doctor.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
