Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking A Plan B Pill?

I am about 180-185 lbs and I took plan b ( 1.5mg of levonorgestrel) I had a condom break(I was on my period as well) and I m assuming he ejaculated inside of me. 11 hours later I was able to get the pill and take it. 3 hours later I didn t vomit or anything so they said I would be good and in my system. I also ended my period the same day I took plan b. But I just read a day later that if you re over 165lbs that it doesn t work as effectively so I was wondering if it would work for me? A day after taking it I feel a little nauseous and I was extremely tired last night but I feel better today. I m very scared about becoming pregnant because all the women in my family are very fertile.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Plan B is an emergency contraceptive pill. The dose is generally customised for about 165 lbs and you could require a little more dose based on your weight. But little overweight should not matter for the pill to offer protection.
The pill would prevent pregnancy by causing withdrawal bleeding within 3 weeks from the day of its intake.
Some of them might feel nauseous after the intake of the pill, bit such symptoms should subside gradually.
Since the incident took place during the end of your period which is not your fertile period and there was no incidence of vomiting following the pill intake, it is unlikely that you might conceive.
Kindly wait for periods to happen by 3 weeks, which would ensure that you are not pregnant.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
