Is Pregnancy Possible After Having Unprotected Sex While On Birth Control?

I m 20 years old and I had sex yesterday without a condom but I have been on birth control for about three years now and he ejaculated inside me. I was wondering what the risks are of pregnancy and if antidepressants affect it all at. Is the plan b pill necessary?

Hello and welcome.

Being on birth control significantly reduces the chances of conception and I do not see any cause for concern. Anti-depressants should not interfere with the action of your birth control and so in my opinion you should be well protected from conception.

But if you do not wish to take any chances, then you can take the plan B ECP (emergency contraceptive pill) but within 72 hours from the sexual contact (best when taken within 24 hours from sexual contact).

But this is only for your satisfaction and I do not think it will be necessary.

Best wishes.
