Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve been pregnant several times all w/my husband whose 33yrs old & I m currently only 29yrs old & having many issues after having 5 live births by emergency c-section, plus one vaginal passing away during birth, & a few miscarriages before & in between heartbreakingly. But I have a bicornuate uterus & was curious if this heightens chances of becoming pregnant after a tubal ligation (had tubes cut & burned)? Is it possible for the fetus to grow in the abdomen if so & how far can it make it growth wise if doesnt make it in uterus? Will a normal pregnancy test show positive if fetus is not formed in uterus? Sorry for so much history & so many questions I didn t know if prior history could affect anything.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. Pregnancy could be possible after tubal ligation if the tubes get re-canlised, if the operation is not done properly. It is very very rare event to happen. Fetus to grow in bicornuate uterus is possible if you become pregnant. But there are chances of miscarriages with uterine anomalies. Pregnancy test could be positive even if fetus is not present in uterus in case of blighted ovum and ectopic pregnancy. If you want to conceive even after tubal ligation, it is possible by means of invitro fertilization (IVF) procedure. Otherwise it is not possible to become pregnant. Hope this answers your questions raised.
