Is Painful And Sensitive Jaw And Tooth Suggestive Of TMJ?
hi my jaw has been bothering me for months my doctor says its TMJ but when i drink something really cold my bottom teeth on my right only make me jump a foot in the air and the same tooth is sensitive to pressure but my doctor says its all tmj not a possible root canal issue?
So sorry to hear about your problem and will try my level best to resolve it..
As per your complain of you have jaw pain it çan be probably due to TMJ but if you also have a single tooth that is so sensitive to cold it can be due to either decay in tooth or can also be due to opening of the nerve endings present on the tooth leading to Dentinal Hypersensitivity. . I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Panoramic x ray and an IOPAR of the sensitive tooth..
In case if there is decay in tooth then filling or Root Canal treatment can help.. On case of hypersensitivity desensitizing tooth paste can help.. In case of TMJ mouth guards, painkillers, muscle relaxant and Physiotherapy can help..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
