Is My Diagnosis Correct?

i have been diagnosed with aute phryngitis and my doc, gave me Ceftum 500 twice and day,teczine 5mg once a day and kineto dp 3 times a day.
i am having a fever of 100F, cant eat or swallow anf have a red throath. and pain on both sides of my neck.
can u pls, tell me if he made the right diagnosis.
i have this problem 5 times a year and smoke a pack of 20 a day.
i am 23yrs old and in peak physical condition.

Hi,
From symptoms it seems that you might be having Acute Pharyngitis and treatment prescribed is correct.
If you get this problem very often then it might be due to irritation of throat due to heavy smoking.
Quit smoking.
Do antiseptic gargles.
Ok and take care.
