General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome to HCM.
Lovastatin induced myopathy.

The cholesterol lowering medications (Statins) like Lovastatin are known to cause myopathy, liver injury and stomach upset.

Myopathy is a general term for disease of the muscles, and it is usually characterized by weakness. The onset of muscle symptoms is usually within weeks to months after the initiation of Statin treatment but may occur at any time during treatment.

You must stop taking this medication and consult your treating physician to prescribe an alternate effective but a safer cholesterol lowering medication like Ezetimibe or Cholestyramine.
Hope this will help.
