Is Moderate Global Cerebral And Severe Bilateral Hippocampal Volume Loss A Concern?

My mother had a MRI and the result was the following: 1. Moderate global cerebral and severe bilateral hippocampal volume loss. 2. White matter findings most likely reflecting severe chronic microvascular ischemia. Can you please explain the result?
