Is Medicine Advisable For High Thyroid Level During Pregnancy?
My daughter is 20 weeks into her 2nd pregnancy. Her thyroid tests are coming back high side of normal. Same thing on 1st pregnancy and elected no medication. This time they want to treat with mods but she doesn t know why she would want to take mess when she is still in the normal range
Hyperthyroidism and pregnancy is a vast and huge topic which I can explain to you over at least an hour or so. But in short, the effects of hyperthyroidism during pregnancy can cause some grave consequences like still births, miscarriages, pre-term labor, pre-eclampsia, to list some. So please do not take things lightly as there is a vast ocean of knowledge relating to medicine that you are unaware of. Do not question your doctor in such situations, your doctor wants whats best for you and your baby (addressed to your daughter).
Best wishes.
