My LDL is 142 and the graph thing says it should be less than 130. Am I in trouble?My father and most people on his side of the family all died of heart issues.I am 51 years old.Don t mean to sound like a neurotic but...

Hi welcome to HCM.
Elevated blood lipid level can pose risk to your heart.IN presence of significant and positive family history of heart disease,it is always advisable to keep the LDL cholesterol to less than 100 mg% and if you are diabetic it should be less than 70 mg%.Drugs like Statins will help to reduce the blood lipid level.Regular physical exercise for 20min/day can provide brisk reduction of ldl cholesterol.Consult your doctor for further help.
