Is It To Be Concerned About The Knot In The Vein Close To The Elbow Area?
I noticed today, in my right arm, that I have a small knot directly on one of the veins close to the elbow area. It isn t very painful just tender when I press on it and it doesn t look like a bruise on the arm but it looks different then normal. I can see maybe a small line almost like a bruise following the vein. The section on the vein affected is maybe an inch long with one bigger knot and then a much smaller one at the end of it. Should I be very concerned or I m more of a keep an eye on it and watch to see if it gets worse.
Hi, it could be either a thrombosed vein which means a small clot inside the vein. The normal vein if it is superficial and obvious in fair skinned people also sometimes appears like this. The valve containing areas of the veins appear like dilated round swellings but they are not tender. It is very difficult to say confidently without examining you. You could see your GP or Doctor who can examine you and let you know. Take care, Dr Rishi, New Delhi, India.
