Is It Safe To Use Old Rigid Gas Permeable Lenses?

Thank you. This morning I lost one of my RGP lenses down the bathroom sink! I have an older back up pair, so I reached for those. However, when I opened the case, the solution had mostly evaporated, leaving a gummy residue. I was able to rinse that off fairly easily, & I let them sit in the soaking solution all day. Do you think these lenses are safe to use? ( I inserted one of the lenses for a moment, and it felt comfortable, but I was afraid to try wearing it, so I took it out.)

Now there is no way out except to purchase one new solution. You goto op to merist from whom you have surcharged the lens. you can also get your lens examined by him.
