Is It Safe To Use Orajel To Treat Abscessed Tooth?

I have an abcess tooth. I cannot get in with my dentist for a few days. It is excruciatingly painful and no over the counter meds have worked. I tried orajel and clove oil as well. Both give relief for about 30 min. First, is it possible to use to much orajel? Second I have left over antibiotics from a uti I had a few months ago. Will they help in any way with this infection? Which one would help until I can get this taken care of?

Understanding your concern.

As per your query you have abscessed tooth with pain .It occur when there is severe tooth infection reaches at the tip of the root and form abscess .I t is very painful condition which can be treated clinically by performing root canal or tooth extraction if infection is severe along with oral antibiotics.

So you should visit dentist ,who may perform bite test or order X-Ray as a diagnostic procedure and treated it accordingly.

For now what you can do is continue applying orajel/clove oil as the are helping you in reliving pain.Both have natural pain reliving effect.As far as antibiotics are concern you can take ampicillin or amoxicillin if you have ,they will help in decreasing infection.

I would suggest to do warm saline rinses or baking soda rinses 3-4 times a day ,they will be very helpful in reliving symptoms.
