Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 88 years of age and have lumbar back pain which is not severe but inhibits movement particularly walking.I play golf regularly and the problem does adversely effect my game as I can t swing freely. Someone said to try Baclofen but data does not suggest this is the most appropriate drug. What do you think?
thank-you user for your query. as per your condition all I want to suggest is that kindly avoid playing golf for few days as that includes bending and swinging which will always causes your lumbar area to go under stress. baclofen is a drug which has many side effects luke seizure (convulsions), confusion, hallucinations; or even an uneven heartbeat. It may also cause drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, tiredness, headache, sleep problems (insomnia); nausea, constipation; or urinating more often than usual. so kindly use diclofenac sodium along with proton pump inhibitor, 1500mcg of methylcobalamin, calcium and vitamin d3 sachet once weekly. Get an X-ray done and do consult an orthopaedician. god bless
