Is It Safe To Take Nordette Tablet To Delay Periods? Any Side Effects?

hi, my 15 yr old daughter and i are due to go on vacation august 11th, for 2 weeks...her period is supposed to begin august 10th...i am concerned about her having her period on the trip because she gets really sick, especially on the first 2 days of her period...i took her to the doctor and he prescribed Nordette to delay her period. he suggested that she takes them from today, once daily. for the next 6 weeks..that is until we come back...is this safe??? concerned mom.

Usually postponement of cycles is not advisable in young age unless there is a strong reason. Since you are sure that the occurrence of a period during your vacation would cause discomfort, your doctor may have prescribed the medication.
