Is It Safe To Take Gestofit In The 6th Week Of Pregnancy?

6 weeks pregnant and doctor had recommended susten 400 SR earlier, but we were not getting susten 400 sr in medical shops, hence he advised for Gestofit 400 SR; one tablet daily. Is it safe to take this?? I also had an abortion before due to abornomality.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Susten 400 SR contains Progesterone, which is in sustained release form. Gestofit 400 mg contains Dydrogesterone, which is a synthetic progesterone.
It would be better to go for the same composition as prescribed. You can go for Microgest SR 400 or Lupigest SR 400 instead.
Kindly consult your doctor for proper dosage before you choose to change the brand.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
