Is It Safe To Take Deriphyllin For Persistent Cold Allergy?

Hi Sir/ I haven t experienced every respiratory problem. But suffering from prolonged cold allergy this time doctor has give me Deriphyllin OD 300 tablet, is it fine to take it . I m concerned weather taking now will create a regular asthma like situation in future , or it is ok to take one time , please advice, Thanks Gous

Hi thank you for posting your query in HCM. I understand your concerns.
Deriphylline is a bronchodilater , clears the airway in the trachea, mainly used in respiratory problems like asthma, bronchitis.Taking this tablet will not lead to asthma, it helps in reducing wheeze.
If i were your treating doctor i would ask the following questions.
Since how many months do you have this problem.?
Does fever occur frequently?
Do you have any allergies?
Any weight loss recently?
I would come up with these possible problems
Dust allergy, allergy developed after having contact with pets, flu, hyperthyroidism.
I would advise you to consult ENT doctor near you for further evaluation and management.Hope i have answered your question. If you have any further questions i will be happy to help.
