Is It Safe To Take Ceftum Tablet During Pregnancy?

8th of sept'15, 4months of pregnancy. first time come up to this stage. there is previous history (thrice) of miscarriage mainly due to ovary cyst problem.

Cyftum-250 is started from yesterday @ 2nos per day for total 3days. this was recommended as she felt some abdominal pain. That pain was temporary.
Question is that is there any side effect of the said medicine please?

Actually the drug your doctor prescribed Ceftum-250 (Cefuroxime) is an antibiotic of the family of cephalosporin, which chemically are similar to penicillin. My impression is that the pain that the madam felt, might be caused from a ruptured cyst, for which the doctor prescribed the antibiotic, in order to prevent infection.
Regarding your question if is it safe to take Ceftum tablet during pregnancy, I would say that yes, since Cefuroxime has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA, which means that animal studies failed to reveal evidence of fetal harm and there are no controlled data in human pregnancy.
